Wondering how many miles can I expect out of my 2004 Vanden Plas 4.2 liter engine? Currently I have 172,000 and it runs great but I would like to know approximately how long it's life expectancy should be given proper care.

 

2003 xj8 4.2 bought at 200.000miles sold at 230.000 in about 4 1/2 years.
324.000km to 373.000 km
Engine wise just sparkplugs and coils evey year oilchange. Alternator referb. Lots of other parts sure like brakesallround and outer brake lines 4 heightsensors ( 2 shot )and a new compressor &&&

my ‘07 XJR is 506.000km (more than 300.000 miles), stock engine, never opened. I still use it as a daily.
