Where to bu an Alternator for 2007 Jaguar VDP
Hello Gentlemen and thank you for you suggestions
It looks like places I've called in the USA don't have the rebuilt alternator in stock. I ended up buying the alternator from a place called partssource.ca here in Ottawa Canada. The alternator was quite a bit more than what's listed on partsbin; $333.33 vs. $108 but they had it in stock and it will be it in store Saturday morning (in less than 24 hours) (so i swallowed the bullet on that, since i need my automobile by Monday morning).
In any case, since no man replied with the procedure on how to replace it, it will be a shot in the dark for me. I've replaced alternators before (on Infiniti, Nissan, Toyota, VW, Mecedes, GM) but I find the job less stressful when there are steps to follow.
I guess this is the price i have to pay for driving a car which i could hardly afford.
Best regards to all,
-Christopher

I've started the replacement process. I've got the belt off and the alternator bolts off. The alternator is loose between the passenger side suspension the engine block and the stabilizer bar (it will wiggle around in its "area" but it's f####in stuck there). At this point in time it seems like mission impossible. The only way it could physically (potentially) come out is along the bottom of the engine (towards the drivers side) and then up through the air supply/filter area (i've already removed the duct work and the filter box)..... But as i said; at this time the thing is stuck right near its mount point, there just isn't enough clearance to move it past the super thick stabilizer bar.

I'm not well versed in jag terminology yet. Could you please elaborate a bit on what is the "r/s engine mount"; I suppose there is one on each side.... From what i can see there is lots in the way. If the space between the oil pan and the cross-member was larger (by about 2") then maybe it would squeeze through there and drop to the bottom....
Does the "all-data" reference advise through were exactly the alternator comes out?
Is there a chance you rcode, or someone else could cut and paste the whole procedure? Can I buy this procedure from somewhere ?

If you plan on doing work yoursself, get a subscription to Alldata.com. All the procedures are there. Since this material is copyrighted, it cannot be copied and posted here.
To remove the alternator, the engine needs to be supported and lifted after removing the right side mount bolt and the mounting bracket itself. The rest is just unbolting the unit after removing the drive belt.
Thanks for all you advise, i purchased a subscription to alldata and followed the procedure, the alternator is now replaced.
BAD NEWS is that Now the car wont start..... It just keeps cranking and it feels as if there was no compression or fuel.... could i have triggered some sort of safety mechanism or some kill switch... While i was replacing the alternator the front wheels where off the ground (rear wheels were on the pavement).
Please help
