The wife said her driver side window would go down sometimes on it's own and now none of the windows will go down.I checked all the fuses and took off the door panel and unplugged the switch unit. As I was looking at the switches the driver side window went down (I had the key on) This happen with the key on and the switches unplugged. Now what I have is 3 windows up that will not go down and one down that will not go up.Need help guys because the wife is driving my truck!!
Thanks

there are no codes showing that I can see, also no check engine light.Would disconnecting the battery reset anything??

These cars can suffer from "funnies".

Yes try disconnecting the battery, some people advocate holding + and - cables together but I am not sure exactly what that does.

Default windows

Here is what I have done so my wife could use the car in the meantime.I unplugged the window motor and applied 12 volts just to raise the window.I left the motor unplugged to keep it from going down on it's own. There is a programmable controller in the drivers door and I was wondering if that could be the problem??
Thanks
Bill

That is odd. If the door modules go faulty they would show a code. Maybe you need an exorcist! Little help..sorry. Holding the disconnected battery leads are supposed to expire any residual power in the system. Not that doing it will solve mystic window openings. Has the window master switch been getting "hot" you can feel some heat with your hand on it?

The switches that operate the windows look OK but can't tell anything from that.I guess it could be a switch. Is it a complete unit or are the switches separate from each other, maybe I can find one on e bay.We have been getting a lot of rain here and who knows the wife may have gotten water into them, although they seam dry. thanks
