Default Is it worth the upgrade ?

So I came across a 2008 XJR with the same miles as my 06 and while I love mine I do like the body upgrades on the 07/08 and am curious about other members thoughts whether its worth the upgrade since selling mine and buying this 08 I would have to come out of pocket a couple grand for basically the same car but with a newer look.

Thanks in advance.

FWIW I took a long time to get used to the X358 style.Essentially it is little more than new bumpers and a mock vent on the wings. My current 2003 Sport seems better looking. But then with the miles creeping up I thought - "why not look around for a newer car" So I am about to take over an X358 Sovereign on less than half the miles of my old car. The point I would make is that one needs to look at the car "in the flesh". I did this last week and it was a no-brainer - I bought the car. (see my other post)

Of course there are no major changes, the car is mechanically the same as my old one but will have all the development changes made over the years from te car's introduction in 2003. My new one is a late 2007, or 2008 Model Year as per the USA

Default Decisions decisions

I don't know that this will help you decide, but here is my nearest experience to your current condition.

For a relatively brief period of time (6 months or so), I had my long time 05 Super V8 and a 2008 Super V8. My thinking that I would make up my mind after a period and let the other car go.

The facelift cars are very nice and very powerful. I did enjoy the revised bumpers and shark gil fender vents. Interior revisions are apparent as well, including different headrests and heated and cooled seats.

As it turns out, I was not so much a fan of the 08 liquid silver, much preferring the earlier platinum silver on the 04/05 cars. In the end, I stuck with the black 05 over the 08.

Not sure how much the color would effect your decision, but it is something to consider.

There is so much personality on the inside re. woodgrain, color and trim etc. that I would suggest that you consider all aspects in totality. I am sure these are in your thoughts.

Probably too granular, but what colors make up the new car? The radiance red on your current car is very nice!

Can you have both and decide after a (brief) period of calendar overlap?

If I was on the west coast, I'd offer to 'hold' the 06 for ya!

Thanks and good luck-

Thanks for the input. The car was liquid Silver with Black interior. Whats funny is over the weekend I saw 2 silver XJ8's..... and no slight to those who own Silver but.... they just don't POP like my Red one so...... shes a keeper.

I'm with you on color. I didn't used to be a color snob until we bought the dark blue XJ. Now when I see the colors that you see everyday, they just don't stand out as much. My faves on the x350 are the red, dark blue and light blue.
