Default X350 XJ-R windows dont work when headlights are on

Hi,

I have here a 2004 XJ-R (X350) which a strange electrical problem. I'd really appreciate any help.

The windows only go up/down when the light stalk switch is in OFF position.
If the switch is set to parking lights, low beams or AUTO, the windows won't go up/down.

Based on what I've read here in the forum, these are my attempts so far to no avail:
-tried a different front electrical module, rear electronical module and light stalk switch
-checked the ground points behind the headlights and at the front electrical module
-tried hard reset by shorting ground and power battery cables
-tried disconnecting the interior light dimmer switch, headlights and tail lights

I know the reason why windows won't go up/down is because the output enable signal from front electrical module (pin CR1-14) changes from 12V to 0V when headlights are turned on. But I don't know why this is happening.

Many thanks for any help
Lino

Solved!

The wiring for one of the headliner’s light fixtures was shorted to ground (headliner was replaced a few months ago).

one of the wires going to a headliner light bulb was shorted to ground, which was causing passenger side fuse F14 to blow.
once the wire was repaired and fuse replaced, everything was ok.
