Default X358 Owners

Hi All,

A few questions that are directed toward X358 owners with the updated lower front bumper.

Does anyone else have fogging happening on the inside of there fog flights? Is there an easy way to clean this up without taking the entire bumper off?

Second, is the front lower grill supposed to clip into the lower portion of the bumper? Mine is free on the bottom portion. It looks like the tow hook to load the vehicle onto a service truck is behind this grill. Maybe it was used prior and not installed correctly?

Thanks for your help!

Mike

The fog lights are accessible by taking off the lower valance. Hopefully it is just the bulb seal that has gone out, as I don't have any fogging inside of mine. The grille does have tabs that it should be seated in on the bottom. It is easy to not get them seated; in fact the owner's manual cautions to take extra care that everything is snapped in properly if removed. Unfortunately, it is also easy to break the lower retaining tabs off of the grille during removal (ask me how I know).

Thanks Dave! Do you happen to know how to remove the valance around the fog lights?

Also, my lower grill is just held in at the top. Do you know how to remove the top attachment points without breaking them? I would like to remove the grill completely to review if the bottom attaches are indeed broken.

Pull the bulb, use a hair blower on the lens until moisture gone. Don't use a heat gun - too hot, melt bumper. Let it cool before putting bulb in. Worked on my XKR.

The plastic grille surrounding the fog light pulls straight out, being held in with three plastic clips. The fog lights are held in place with up to four self-tapping screws. The wiring is long enough to remove the bulb from the back. This is probably easier than removing the whole under-bumper valance. I found that it was necessary to clean the inside of the fog light with a cloth or paper towel, aided by a soft wooden stick or skewer. I don't think the fog lights are particularly effective, but they are the same devices as on my Toyota.

Thanks all!! I got my bumper grill clipped in correctly. My OCD can rest now . I had to take off the radiator splash guard, which was a pain.

My fog lights were cleaned with a q-tip and some glass cleaner. It must have been dried condensation.

Thanks again!
