Can I bother you with a few questions? Looking into buying a Vanden Plas for my wife.

1)How well integrated is the DVD system? 2)Can it be controlled from the front via the normal radio controls? 3)Where is the DVD reader unit located? Easy access from the driver's seat?

We went to the dealer and the car they had there was a Vanden Plas with an aftermarket (dealer installed) unit. First off all I will not pay the factory price for an aftermarket setup... anyway... no available car with the factory setup so wanted to find out from someone that has one some of the details.

reader is in the trunk. on top of the nav.. all you can do from the front is change sound from all to rear.. dvd system is awesome tho.. perfect sound... quality is great.. no problems..

 

How much did you get that for? im looking into one for my dad, but i think it mite be a little out of my price range

 

I saw a 06 with liek 10,000 miles on it in perfect condition on texascarsdirect.com for 60,000 dollars. That's probably the cheapest one you can find, that hasnt been like totaled or something.

I have seen a few on ebay, and they were advertised to sell to like a limo company. This car is so like luxurious and set up to be a limo I think any family buying it would be pretty uneconomical, although I wish my family did have one. I think any other new xj is like at least 10,000 less, 04xtype, and that would probably make more sense for your dad to buy. Like the XJR or the VDP which are still amazing cars, just not so many of the excessive features.
