Default xj8 headrest jammed?

I need to lower the passenger side headrest to the down position. It is up several inches. When I push down on it quite forcefully, it does not move at all. It is level btw.

Am I missing something? Is there something I don't know?

Did you try the power switch? It's the one that raises or lowers the seat back. You adjust the headrest by moving the switch up or down.

Default Wow

Thank you Carelm,

I read that in the owner's manual...but I didn't believe it!!! I have had many cars and trucks, and I never saw such an arrangement before. Oh ye of little faith... I went out to the car and tried it. Problem solved.

Also, that is the quickest reply to a question I have ever had on any board. You answered before I signed out.

Thanks again,

Tom

In my opinion, this electric headrest thingy is just a crowd-pleaser for salesmen to show in front of potential customers in the showroom. I don't think I have used mine once since 2010, except to set it for my height when I bought the car.

Actually, I have shown it off, (like a salesman !!) to people at Jaguar rallies. Something on the lines of "on this car Jaguar have thought of everything"
