Default XJR better looking than XK Coupe?

Well I am lucky enough to have both and I can tell you that I get more compliments on my XJR than my XK coupe. For every compliment I get on the XK I get four on the XJR! In my mind's eye I believe the XK is a much nicer looking car. Coupes inherently look better than sedans. Just thinking that the XK looks like a high-end car and people snub it possibly? What are your thoughts?

Xj is recognized as a jaguar as soon as you see it, a classic look.
The XK is a beautiful, sporty looking car, among many others.
They all went into the wind tunnel & came out looking somewhat the same.

I love the looks of my XJR. Think it way better looking than the wife’s 335i or my A8.
As a plus I have not need to repair anything on it in about a year. Cann’t say the same for the Audi or the Beamer.

Till you look at the motor, or know what the R means, they look the same.

I had an XJ8 before the R and they go pretty good for three hundred horsepower

I love the looks of the XK's but you would think Jaguar would have made them as wide as the XJ8's and a little longer. They are rough riding and almost impossible to get in and out of. I'm only 5' 10" but my head hits the roof with the seat lowered all the way. The rear seat is a joke and the motor although it's a 4.2 doesn't seem as quick as the 4.2 XJ8. Total disappointment for me.

Racy, sporty, handling, & looks, seem to come at the cost of comfort & room, (LUXURY) you can't have it all.
Both my XJ8's are more than fast enough to please me.

Get good mileage, & don't seem to suffer the abuse of the sportier models previous owners, I M H O.

Wink

Kinda an unpopular view for some but;
Vehicles are a lot like women, leave the fast, flashy, expensive ones, for the suckers with money.
I prefer nice looking, dependable, & doesn't need constant attention.
Beauty truly is in the eye of the beholder.

I would like to have a XKR coupe but have just picked up a low mileage XJR and I have to say she looks really nice to my eye. Been sitting since I bought it until last night when I finally found a sport strut for the front and got it installed. I think I'll keep her 😋

Yes that is probably the one you saw. I bought it down near Shelton. It had a bad strut when I bought it. Was trying to save for two new fronts but I also have a higher mileage 08XJ that suddenly started demanding new parts. I finally decided to chance a used red dot on ebay. Actually wasn't that bad of a job to change it out. So far so good. Bought it early summer and finally got to actually drive it this morning for the first time after staring at it for a couple months. Supercharger definitely makes a difference. Still need to check every thing over but overall happy. And as far as this thread, I went and put fuel in it this morning and had 2 people walk up to me at the pump just to look at it. Big Smile!

Send your bad strut off to RMT. Thy can rebuild it and ship back. I bought four used at a salvage yard right after purchasing the car. I think sitting unus d was bad. All worked perf after install. Lasted maybe 2 years until all four had crapped out.
I think you will need a good front air strut before long.
Good looking car BTW. They do not age as gracefully in Texas. The heat and sun seem to be hard on most European cars.
