1995 Jaguar XJR - Misfire when hot.
Hi, i am thinking of taking a punt on a cheap XJR - if things like bodywork/service history etc are half decent.
The reason the seller is selling the car so cheaply is because (in the words of the seller) :
"Once the engine is hot, it has a misfire at high revs. I haven't got the time to sort it out and all the specialists I've taken it to haven't been able to find the problem. None of them seem to find a problem but I think that's because they don't test drive it long enough. Had the catalytic converters and lambda sensors replaced a few months ago"
I would assume that if the car has been to several specialist, they must have checked coil packs??
Does anyone know if this sounds like a terminal/expensive problem?
The registration is M263 YUD - On the off chance that someone might know the car.
Thanks.

Perhaps checked but unable to positively condemn? Or checked when the symptom was not occuring, thus making it unlikely that a fault would be discovered?
Cheers
