1995 x300 lwb vdp
I've been driving a 95 XJS for 20 years, and its been nothing short of a complete pleasure. I will never sell it. But I am now looking for a sedan, and I like the rather bulletproof version of the AJ16 engine. I have reasons for wanting a 95MY. There seems to be a belief that most 95 VDPs were produced on a SWB, and that the later VDPs came through as LWB.
Does anyone know what VIN these actually started with? Were these really manufactured, or is it a myth? Does anyone here actually own a LWB 95 VDP? Would love to find one---if they really exist. Thanks!

AFAIK, all 95 model year VDP were indeed SWB. If you want a LWB, you'll have to start with 96 model year.
Personally, I prefer the driving experience and aesthetics of the SWB, which is why we have the 95.

We've had two 95 VDPs (first one was totaled when it got hit by a drunk driver). One had a glove box, one didn't. Don't know what VIN number the change occurred.
The way you can tell without the badgeing is that the rear door window is 6 inches longer on the LWB . You can use that yardstick when shopping . SWB is 29.5 inches long on the bottom window edge , glass only before the molding . LWB should be 35.5

I don't believe those gr'animals exist, though seem to recall someone posting on here claiming to have a LWB MY95.
My 95 is like Brutal's, sans glove box.
The 96 is noticeably quieter; I attribute it to the thicker glass and resonator-chamber in the intake piping.
