That's the beauty of used Jags--lots of car for little koney :-)

-so I ask is how many xj 12 we're brought into us in 1995 ? original MSRP? I looked around on ebay and craigs list very few available at any time and I figure how can I lose

I'll try to find more accurate figures....they're out there, maybe even posted on this forum...but I wanna say only a few hundred. I think the original MSRP was about $70- $75k

Not sure what to make of your lock problem but, yes, they came with remote locks.

Congratulations on your Jag. You've got your hands on one of the most desirable models.

Cheers

Sounds like a honey...

lock problem - go visit the S-type section and search it for "lock" or "Door lock" or similar. I recall one over there within the last week where the computer is looking for all doors to report "locked" and if one fails to report, it unlocks them all. Wouldn't be surprised at all if the same logic or similar is not integrated into our older X300's. So you may have a partially failed actuator but it mayn't necessarily be the pax-side. All of that is foggy, but that's the gist of one cause of what you are describing...not really sure if it applies to these, though.
