As I told him, my analysis of the market around N. TX in 2010 is that a perfect one tops out around $6k - $7k. Other factors to consider, has it lived its life in the Sun Belt? Or the Rust Belt?
You may get more if you find one of a relative handful of individuals who has decided the X300 is destined to be a collector's classic and means to preserve one of the lowest-mileage specimens out there.
I'm a bit of an oddball in that I probably value the X300 a bit more dearly than most, but....I also look upon low-mileage Jags with a bit of suspicion. My experience with the 3 in our stable (as well as current and previous domestic products) is that such little use results in more problems than regular use.
Best method is probably to search a number of used-car websites (like autotrader.com et al) within 250 - 500 miles of your location and note the listing prices and compare the specs and condition to your grandmother's car and go from there.

I am usually a "lowballer" on the value for these, but 20k miles, garaged? If the the clearcoat is pristine and it really has no corrosion, depending on the color, I would probably give $4,500 or $5,000. since I have a stock of most parts with no chassis to use them on. You might find the guy ahol is referring to and get up to $6,000, but good luck.

Boss,
Regardless of its stated condition, cars of this age usually have some needs, even if they are not immediate needs. Your XJ6 could fetch 4000-4500, in near excellent condition and such low mileage. Autotrader and ebay aren't much help, aside from showing you what you can't sell a car for. Most of the vehicles listed there are way overpriced. That's why they stay on Autotrader for months or years at a time, and why they are continuously relisted on ebay.
You will find out how much it's worth if you follow the normal (actual) selling strategy: set a price (but not too high), and decide how much you are willing to give. Then very gradually, decrease your asking price until you begin to get inquiries. Like most things, it is only worth what someone is willing to pay. Cars would sell a lot quicker if people used this method, but apparently many are not interested in actually selling!
