Talking 3 More Days...

...then I'll be an owner of a X300! I'm hoping it goes through so I can say so long to my 740!

BMW 7 series is a nice ride too. E32, E38?

Yes they are but, I've had 3 of them including the present one and they can start to annoy you after a while. It's an E38. Just a tad bit over engineered but, definitely DIY friendly...

Good luck with the cat. I have an '01 E38 that always seem to require my attention lol Right now it's putting out the smoke cloud from time to time on start up--looks like CCV replacement! If it wasn't such a nice vehicle she'd be traded or sold lol

I had a 1990 7 series (e32) hence my email address (e32fan). It was a nice car, sat well, drove well but there is no comparison IMHO between it and my 1996 4.0 litre Sovereign. The Jag is so much more comfortable, has a greater "presence" and looks a much classier car on the road. I suppose the 6 year difference is noticeable.

Interestingly, the 7 series look like a low slung car.

But, just go and lookup the height difference between it, and a XJR. There is a significant difference. Several inches.

I've had a few E32's too. Even had my own E32 repair site (homeofsbc.com), but it is closed now. I agree that the X300 is a much classier car. Unfortunately my XJR isn't much more comfortable than the E32. I like the power of the XJR, but the comfort of the sovereign may be more to my taste today.

Thanks! While you're in there you may as well as do the intake manifold gaskets and hoses while you're in there and check your valley pan gasket too...

I've had 3 E32's also and 1 was a v12 IMHO, the Jag is way classier to look at too! Sorry about your page though...maybe you can get it going again...

It is indeed and I have, the Jag is seriously lower 4 inches as a L comfort and 5 for the XJR...I love it!!!

It was sbc that had the website, not me. I have my hands full running the car, running a website would be beyond my old brain!

Nah, there would be no point. Closed it when I got rid of the car and have no plans to reopen. It was fun while it lasted, though, and I met unbelieveable many nice people from everywhere on the planet. Thankfully there are many good guys on the Jaguar platform too, always willing to help.

OK I understand why you would! You are so right, there are a lot a great folks on the internet forums! And I'm seeing some here as well and I plan to be as helpful as possible too just from what I know about cars I've owned in the past and researching things that could help us here

I'd happily have an E38, but I'd love an E32 740. Still getting used to being (primarily) a Jag driver!

Congrats, I like pre Bangle Butt 7 Series , however X300 being one of the best styled Jags ever has a real eye catcher .
I can't speak for bimmer forums but these JFs are the most friendly one I have ever been posting

Thanks I do too! Just always wanted a X300 Jag especially since I saw the XJR back in 1995 and the newer styling and how reliable they have been through the years for owners who take care of them. I was showing my girlfriend all the good things people have said about them and she was impressed. There are lots of friendly folks here and I'm really liking what I see!
