Hey guys, I took my door panel off to correct a previous owner problem. I put all new clips on panel, with the bushings. Great job so I thought. The last piece to go back on, is the chrome piece around the door release lever. It appears, that somehow, it is held in by a plastic "cup" that attaches to the door lever assembly. I the handle assembly and the trim in the parts diagram, but can't dinstiguish this particular piece being on the parts list. Any help appreciated.

 

I think the metal trim is held in place by the black plastic cup. Is yours damaged or missing?

 

Mine is definitely damaged. I think I see now that the plastic "cup" comes with the chrome trim. The door panel was loose at the bottom, and I put it back together twice, but it kept coming loose. I ordered the new plastic bushings that go in the door, along with the new clips. The chrome trim around the door handle was not on properly, and when I started putting it back together, I have figured out that these cars are plagued by the same DPO problem as all our other British cars.
