I can pick up a rough, black/black, 123k, 97 XJR locally. Bad paint, starting to rust, needs rear wheel bearings, has suspension issue, but runs well otherwise. I don't know much about parts availability for the XJR but I know the 97 was a low numbers car. What's the low-end of it's value as it sits?

I'm not a salvage guy, but my gut tells me that any car that is relatively complete, still driving and road worthy is a $500-1000 car depending on how bad off it is.

Relative to actual salvage value, you might call a yard and see what they would give you for the same car if you drove it up to their door to get an idea what it is worth.

Beyond that, I don't think the market will make any real distinction of rarity or special value because of the make & model. It is harder to find the X300 XJRs in salvage yards, but they do turn up, and 90% of the car is just an XJ6 which shows up pretty often. Plus eBay covers many needs these days.

But if you have somewhere to store it and there is enough left in good shape to use as spares, it would be handy to get as a parts car for a few hundred.
