New problem today... The auto-unlocking feature when you pull the driver's door handle stopped working today. Everything else working normally (ie: fob lock/unlock, auto-lock when moving gear selector from park).

Where do I start? Please note that I changed the driver's interior door handle with a used part because the cable went bad.

I can't directly solve the problem, but we know these things are controlled in the door by handle movement. When something goes wrong always go back to your last operation, in your case the inside handle.

 

Yes, I suppose it's related to the handle. I'll have some time this weekend or next week to inspect it. Just want to get some background info on how the assembly operates. Thanks for your reply!

 

There's a micro switch in the door latch assembly. I know it operates the interior lights....maybe it ties into the central locking as well? Just a thought.

I think there's a switch on the lock cylinder as well. Perhaps pulling the inside handle also operates this switch, via linkage from the latch ?
