Default Badly need a new Sub for 96VDP

Hello Jaguar Forum,

Unfortunately the rear sub which I'm certain was dying before has officially died and having once try to go about replacing it I know what a hassle it has been. The dealers in my province have NOTHING for this car's sound system and have referred me to junk yards and places such as that.

I was wondering if any of you chaps happened to have a sub for the VDP sound system that you're looking to sell and perhaps some expertize in how to go about doing the replacement.

Any guidance at all is greatly appreciated.

Cheers,

Mike

I have not seen one, but if I were looking I'd call the folks at Crutchfield as a start. They may possibly know it and have a direct replacement. If they don't, you could photograph and measure it, along with a clear photo of any informational decal on it and send it to a tech there. 1-800-319-8264.

There is also Dynamic Sounds in London UK; I know they offer an X300 radio mounting faceplate & harness for aftermarket radios... maybe they have info on your sub:

Tel: 020 8875 2525
Fax: 020 8875 2526

Good luck

Google LNF4144AA or LNA4144AB. There are some out there.

What's wrong with yours? FWIW, the cone on my subwoofer was broken at one of the edges and I was able to repair it with silicone. I'm sure audio experts here are gasping at the thought...but it worked! When I say "it worked" I mean the the speaker works and no longer rattles and buzzes. I'm sure it isn't giving optimal sound compared to a new speaker.

Cheers
