Anyone tell me were the relay for the A/C comp clutch is located on a 1997 XJR. It has been working fine untill this morning and when I but it in AUTO the A/C light came on but no cold are (it's 72 degrees here today) I looked under the hood and the cluch is not in. Checked all the fuses they seem okay. Don't believe I have lost the coolant but would like to check the relay first..

 

The relay is located in the right hand relay cluster. There is also a pressure sensor switch that has an apparent higher reported failure rate than the relay. The relay is common with others, find a match and swap. Beyond the relay swap you need a pressure reading to determine if the sensor is faulty and a service center capable of correctly removing the coolant to replace the sensor if that is the fault.

The inside one , nearest the engine. There is also one on left hand side in block of 4...it's 2nd from engine, or 3rd from fender.
swap with 1st and 2nd from fender on left hand side of engine bay(facing forward) these 2 are for wipers, so won't affect anything else important.
