Default Car acting weird

It's kind of damp out today and I've been driving carefully but as I was coming into a turn I hit the gas and it revved up normally and then shot down to idle and flashed the check engine light. I thought it was weird and it didn't happen again. Anybody have an idea of what could've happened. I do tend to drive the car rough at times but then again who doesn't like to have fun every now and again

The weird thing is that my car did the exact same thing this afternoon on the way home.
It has never done it before and I have no idea what caused it.

Do you have traction control?

Ok, this is a stretch but I throw it out just the same.

The t/c works by closing the throttle. IF you had wheelspin perhaps that's what you were feeling.

If the wheelspin goes a bit wild the traction control light will come on. Could it be that the traction control light came on rather than the check engine light?

Cheers

Not sure if these cars have a separate oil light but could have been the oil sloshing around I have had that with other cars usually means the oil is a bit low
