Default Electric seat problem XJ6L

The passenger side seat on my 1996, XJ6L is driving me crazy. The only function it will perform is the butt part of the seat will tilt rock up and down. The forward and back motion the back rest and the head rest do not work. I've replaced the seat module the black box under the seat, nothing changed, so I replaced the complete track with all-new motors, nothing changed. I still have a seat that doesn't function. Has anybody else had similar problems? If so, any ideas, I would greatly appreciate it. Thank you.

PS. I hope I'm in the right section, as I apparently posted this in the wrong section. The first time.

I've moved your question from XJ ( X305 ) XJ12 to X300 forum.

Members here with the same model as you have will be able to help.

All I can suggest is getting the electrical schematics and buzzing the circuits out with a meter.

Given what you've changed already, it could well be the switches.

Hi harold,
Have a look at the back of the seat on both sides at the bottom and you may find some small switches. These sometimes get misaligned.

Also check under the seat there is one for the forward and backward movement.

Hope this helps,

Have you pulled the switch pack out and cleaned the contacts? Mine was in a similar condition, I cleaned the seat button contacts, and all worked as it should. I cleaned the contacts with a pencil eraser.
