Electric Window Switch Bulb
Hi All
I'm looking for the bulb that lights up the electric window switches on the left hand side bank in the drivers door. Ideally I would like a part number so I could order a new one, but the Jaguar garage couldn’t tell me the part number and suggested it came as part of the switch which is very expensive. If I can’t get a new bulb then obviously I will need to source one from a scrap yard.
The bulb on the passenger side electric window switch is very dim and I’d like to replace this too.
Any ideas?
Spencer

A good electronics supplier can probably fix you up. In the UK is it "Maplins" that's so well known? Something like that.
In the USA I'd go to Radio Shack and ask for a " 12v grain of wheat" bulb....as that's probably what it is
Cheers

Mouser is bound to have them.
Actually, I saw them for sale in one of the sites when I was looking for LEDs (they sold the bulbs and various empty bases so you could mix and match). I'll try and find it again...
EDIT: Auto Illumination has them pre-installed in neo-wedge bases. Worst case scenario, you could just get some of them and unwind the wires. $1.49 each:
http://autolumination.com/74.htm (a little less than half way down the page)
Tell us the diameter of the bulb? (I've forgotten).
Also and interesting note: Right at the bottom of that page they have coloured silicone caps - an option for anyone who wanted to change the colour of their backlighting without using LEDs.
