Few Issues With 96 XJR6
Its been 2 month since the jag is sitting in storage, the last 2 days the weather was surprisingly good so i decided to do some work on the jag.
During the 2 days I have done many things but i encounter 2 issue that I just can't seem to find out the answer perhaps someone can point me to the right direction here. anyways heres the problems.
#Issue 1 Antenna Mast
Old Antenna Mast was seized, I can hear motor running but mast would not extend or retract. it remain level with the lock nut. After dissembling and some cleaning and relubing i was able to extract the old mast with huge amount of force along with the broken mast. after reassembling everything i feed the mast down the hole and turned radio off and the motor begins to grab the antenna mast n pulling it down.
Now my questions is : It comes up n down perfectly but unlike before part of the antenna is actually sticking out so should i be pushing that part down? so it levels with the lock nut?
#Issue 2 Remote
I send my OEM remote to fingazfobz for refurbishing and i was successful in reprogramming the remote, however it seems like the signal is very weak even after replacing the remote battery i have to literally point the remote like 1 feet away at the security antenna( rear windshield) to get it to lock/unlock.
Now my question is : whats going on? is it because of my remote being old? or... is it the security antenna(rear windshield)..? and no i do not have a second remote to test the antenna.
# Curious Question
While i was bleeding my brakes today I notice i have slight play in my wheel bearing in the front, is it do able at home? or its a shop only thing? what needs to be done exactly?
Sorry about the long *** post! trying to be as detail as possible so maybe someone can point me to the right direction
