Default Front bumper cover removal 97 XJ6 ??

Hi I think I need to remove the front bumper cover from my 97 XJ6 VP.... so I can remove one of the top chrome finishing blades to replace the broken off LH headlamp power washer.

Anyone ever done it? Step buy step would be appreciated- and will I need to replace any of the fasteners or are they basically reuseable?

Thanks!

The bumper is held in place by two large bolts. They are easily accessable - look under the most prominent ledge of the bumper. Once these are removed, the bumper slides foward. Before removing the bumper you must disconnect it's wiring. I set about disconnecting each individual light and sensor, only to find that there are two main harness connectors further in, so don't make the same mistake. These connections are up inside the far left and right sides of the bumper. but the first thing you'll need to do is remove the undertray, or what's left of it. It might have broken up or fallen off altogether, in which case skip this step. I think it's supposed to be held on by a bunch of bolts, but mine had been screwed to the underside of the bumper (hack job). I don't know the exact procedure for removing a normal undertray, but I think it's pretty self explanatory.

The chrome is fastened with metal clips and screws. The screws will probably lose their threads in the removal process. Mine were a ridiculously fine thread, but again, I'm not sure if they were original.

Thanks;

I should have been more specific.... I hope to be able to remove the front bumper outer cover ONLY... not the whole bumper assembly (should be no need to do that).

The bumper cover should come off separate from the main assembly behind it, (just as it was likely installed after the main bar & energy absorbers on the assembly line) so I can then access the cover top chrome trim fasteners, right?

Any help appreciated

Problem solved! The power washer nozzles simply snap on from the top, without having to remove the bumper cover or chrome blade. The hose it connects to has a quick-connect fitting, much like a new kitchen sink faucet vegetable sprayer snap connection. Took 5 minutes to do the job and the car looks great again!
