Well I've owned my XJR for a year now. With the exception of some minor things she's been great.

Now I have my first major problem. The trans doesn't seem to know what gear to be in. It shifts up and then immediately back down and up again.

Please not a new tranny please.

 

Hi, the tranny for the XJR and X305 is 4L80E, which is prone to have a problem with its tranny ECU or ECU harness. You could check them.

 

Finally the gear hunting got worse and the car is no longer drivable.
But the check engine light came on and I retreived a PO713
High fluid temp? on a cold engine.

I greatly appreciate experience and advise
