Are headrests adjustable, rotating front/rear?

So, obviously the X300 seat headrests are vertically adjustable, but I wondered if they are supposed to also be able to rotate front/rear?

If one looks under the headrest, where the chromed standards go up into the headrest, you will see those standards are in a black plastic slot that would make it appear that the headrest could rotate fore/aft. But when I've applied a little force, they don't seem to move.

Since I didn't want to push too hard and potentially break something, I thought I'd ask if they are supposed to adjust this way.

This all came up because my wife is very short, and no matter how she vertically adjusts the passenger seat headrest it hits her uncomfortably in the head. But if the headrest were able to also rotate back, it could be adjusted so that the headrest wouldn't be too far forward against her head.

If they don't rotate, I wonder why the slots are there?

The manual states that this is their intended use .... guess you just have to "give 'er"!

Hrmm, I've really twisted on my driver's seat headrest to the point of being worried about breaking something and it isn't moving.

I'll have to take a look at the other three as well.
