Default Heated windscreen compatability

Morning all. Can anyone tell me if an X308 (2001) heated front windscreen would fit my 1996 X300? Got a foot long crack in mine and my insurance company won't replace it with another heated one! Cheers!

Not cheap! Been checking various jaguar parts websites and they're £350 ish.

Does anyone know if an XJ40 electric screen has the same wiring loom? Fairly confident the X308 is different now.

Curious why your insurance won't replace it as it is OEM.

1st Central, had to go for a budget company due to age/driving endorsements unfortunately. They only cover windscreens up to the value of £150, and don't cover electrical/mechanical parts associated with the windscreen.

You can expect replacement of a heated windshield in Canada to be in the $1000-$1500 range- BTDT.

Kinda ironic as I retired the car from year round driving right after the replacement so it no longer sees weather where the heating function is of use.
