Help with a 95 XJR
Hello, first of all sorry for my English because I am not a native speaker! So, my father have a 95 jaguar xjr 4.0 Supercharger that he bought and we love that car! But now it is in the garage because it started giving us too much problems and we are trying to figure out what is happening. The car started to failling and misfire a lot specially when we drove it through water and sometimes would stall. After checking the fuses/relays and connectors we Discover that the ecu connector was in bad shape with corrosion. We fixed that but after we installed everything the car wont crank and the automatic transmission light on the dash is on. Any ideas of what can be?
thank you

Hello David,
You should check the ECU connectors again to make sure that all of the pins are still ok and the sockets are clean too. Maybe a pin or socket connector broke due to corrosion when you installed it after cleaning.
Also check the nearby Body Processor Module (the black box behind the glove box, if you have one). It can slide down by pulling out on the knob. It has three plugs. It does not usually get corrosion like the ECU but worth checking because it has many important functions including the engine cranking control.
When the key is in the "run" position before cranking, the Check Engine light must be ON to enable cranking.
Also check fuse 14 in the rear seat left heelboard fusebox. A Red 10A fuse for the transmission module power supply.
