I hit the mother load of service manuals
Now and then I search ebay for official jaguar service manuals. I haven't seen much there and when I do they are asking a lot. Facebook marketplace knows I like jaguar stuff as I bought my XJ12 from there last year. Two nights ago I came across a post that I almost went right past. A guy was selling a bunch of dealership service manuals. It was over an hour from me but from the photos it appears there were manuals for all my jags! $200 bucks for the lot. I drove an hour 15 each way yesterday to ****** them up.
Turns out it was 7 huge bins full of factory dealership manuals. The guy had worked at the dealer for years and then the dealership closed. They were just going to throw them out so he grabbed them. While he was a mechanic he's not a car guy. He got tired of them taking up space in his garage.
I haven't had a chance to go through them yet but I know there are binders for xk8, series 1,2,3 xj6, xjs, x300. Service, parts, electrical diagrams, engine specifics, each with it's own binder or binders. I'll bet there are almost 50 in total. All the x300 stuff is leather bound!
I know we all have most of this stuff in pdf format thanks to nice members, but damnit, I like the actual manuals. I'm going to go through them and clean them up and treat the leather ones. I'm trying to decide where to put them. I'm thinking about putting up a couple shelves on my BRG painted wall in my Jaguar service corner in my shop.
