Default 45 day check-up.

I was invited via email by the Service Department of the dealer where I bought my car, to bring it in for a "complimentary 45-day check-up." They indicated they would: do some simple checks on the car, introduce me to the Service personnel, hand-wash the car, and answer any questions. I had never experienced this before, but we were in Denver last week, so I took them up on it. I have 1900 miles on the car now, and have had no issues on the car except the first fill-up shut-offs, but none since. They put the car up on a hoist and checked tire wear, checked for leaks, topped up all fluids, and finally washed and vacuumed the car. I had a very positive impression of their service and personnel; I was able to talk to the guy who did the service. And they have a most comfortable waiting area with complimentary refreshments, really quite extensive; you could have lunch there with what they offer, no problem. I consider it all good marketing.

That's the way it should be. I'm jealous.

I'm disappointed in my dealership. Got call to schedule an appointment. Showed up and nobody to greet you at service entrance. No signs of where to go. Then the girl never scheduled my appointment. Then no Jaguar loaner and had to get a rental car. Lobby looked worse than a Honda/Toyota dealership. They are not going to get a good review or my repeat business. Sales treated me well but service department is a deal breaker.
