It amazes me that the F-Type is the volume leader. Shows how weak the rest of the line-up is right now. This will be very different next year.

Agreed, not bad for a 2-seater, which appeals to a much smaller market.

Every single XE review by auto journalists I've seen has been highly positive, and it bested the BMW 3-series in a Motor Trend comparison. Given the competitive price point, if they can build them fast enough and with comparable reliability to the BMW 3/4 and MB C-class, they will sell boatloads of them.

The XE-S with the 340 supercharged V6 sounds pretty good too.

The only thing with the XE is the interior feels a bit cheap to me (I came across the car while on our honeymoon in Europe). I'd choose a C-class with the extended leather option over an XE any day. This is the one area Jag is disappointing now - after an awesome interior in the XJ, they have failed to follow it through the the cars they launched since then. In my opinion saving money in this area is penny wise, pound foolish.

Funny, I just posted how the interior of the F-Type is not as good as it can/should(?) be...

We also have the new C-class with extended leather, and it is an extraordinary interior--probably the best I've ever seen in that class. In fact, it's close to S-class extraordinary. It puts the F-Type to shame, and I would assume you're right that the XE will not come close, but I suspect it will be a better performer.

Saw an AMG GT with a spectacular interior, upgrade. I know how expensive it is buy it's not because of the interior. Somewhere along the line I'm sure Jag will offer another level of upgrade as part of a freshening. I like the Jag,performance seats and extended, but it is not of blow you away class.

Based on early reviews I think the F-Pace (despite the bad name) could be a really big seller for Jaguar.

I am actually amazed with my 2014 XJL. It is the best cruiser, interior, and all around quality car that i have had, and I have had a lot! It is just awesome, and currently debating the 2016 XJL on trade due to the technology upgrades, 5 year 60K warranty, and overall refresh. I am exceedingly satisfied with this car, and have to say that although I enjoy the F, different car, if I had to make a choice, I would stick with the XJL for what it is and does, and depart with the F as a toy for me on the weekends. However with this said, both the F and the XJL are superb machines, and Jaguar is about to explode in presence in my view and brand satisfaction. They have been getting it right, and the new models are supposed to be exquisite! Let's wait and see.

Toys are fun. I only drive toys unless I have to lug diving gear. Then I take the Odyssey.
