Smile Info on heater hose replacement

I just replaced the special heater hose that goes from a stub bolted the the head at the rear of the engine to the heater control valve above the power brake vacume thingy. I tried removing the hose from the stub and cutting some off and replacing it to stop a leak at that point. Not recommended. Due to the heat from the head the hose was shot at that end. Got a new hose and took some time to figure out how the connector worked at the heater control valve. I finally figured it out and thought I'd share what I discovered. It has two plastic prongs that grip a flange on the end of the hose section you are removing. Don't just pry the prongs out as you might break them. The you have real problems. What you do is rotate the end of the connector you are removing about 90 degrees. The prongs then engage two ramps that move the prongs out and walla the hose disconnects. Simple.....if you know how.
