A few issues:
  • Passenger seat goes forward, not backwards
  • I think the lower rad hose needs replaced (yuck)
  • radio sounds like cr@p - planned on replacing it anyways with a unit with a video monitor for a rear view camera
  • couple cracks in the rear bumer cover
  • a little rust ove rthe rear wheel arch (winter project)
  • a couple burned out side marker lamps
  • headliner

Once I get through that stuff, I'll start driving it to see what else it needs.

101,890 miles, cold AC, and all the gears work, can we ask for more? I'm just glad I don't have to sit in the back seat.

Radio might well be your speakers instead of the head-unit.

All 4 sound like dirt. I'll get to testing them. Is that as far as the sliding roof goes?

Dude ... You bought a dud.
The steering wheel is on the wrong side.
Those issues don't look to bad if you can do the jobs yourself on a summer's weekend.
Just remember to take pictures of the results.

Well, it's not the lower radiator hose, it's the coolant bypass hose. Looks like I'll be ordering the intake manifold gasket, too.

It looks like the only way to get to the rear side of this hose is to pull the intake manifold. Tell me if I'm wrong. So, I'll order that gasket while I'm ordering the bypass hose.
Do I need to get anything else?

I imagine its pretty straight forward, but is there an order to remove and replace the bolts with torque specs?

oh, and the driver's door sticker with the paint and interior color codes is half gone.

I wanted to use the interior color code to order a new headliner. Is this code anywhere else on the car?

What most of us do is take the car (or a piece of the headliner) to the local trim shop ....where you'll be able to look at a large sample card and select a matching material. It's nothing exotic....you'll be able to match it up. Expect to pay $40-$60 for enough material to do the job.

Cheers

shops around here won't sell it without you having it done there. Maybe I'll go with synthetic suede if it matches up.

Browse here

WLS Headliners - Automotive interior products

They'll sell the correct material and even have some pictorials on replacement

On a side note, make sure you consider downloading JTIS as it has coverage for your model year.

Even further afield, with regard to your MGB have a look at:

BritishV8: the car magazine for enthusiasts of modified British sports cars

I seen this, but I don't have my color code (sticker is trashed). Do you think they have a reference to know whick color was on our cars?

Is the mirror switch part of the driver's door master switch cluster, or can it be separated and replaced?
