I do not own a key fob (yet) but every time I lock the car with the key, it makes a beep, followed by the light flashing to how that the alarm is engaged. Today, after getting covered with about 7 inches of snow, it worked fine, until I drove about 10 minutes to school, went to lock it and no beep and no light flashing. I tried locking and re-locking it several times but still no luck. I tried opening and closing all of the doors including the trunk to see if that would fix it, but still, nothing. The car locks and unlocks like normal, it's just the security system that's giving me trouble. Any ideas on how to re-engage the security system?

 

All of a sudden it started to work again? Hmm...

 

mine did the same nonsense a few months back. If I locked it with the key, it would occasionally not make the alarm chirp, but sometimes it would. It hasn't done it in a while, so I hope [fingers crossed] it doesn't resurface as a problem again.
