Default Jaguar xjr 1996 X300 hard starting when hot

Hello,

I have a prpblem with my jaguar xjr of 1996 4.0 6 cilinder. When the engine is warm and the car stands still for 10 minutes the car starts, but hard (long cranking about 5 seconds)
The problem only happens after the engine is hot and stand still for more than 10 minutes.
When the engine is cool (eg after 2 hour after warm up) there is no start problem.
What can cause that problem?
Steffen

try having your ignition coils check, when was the last time you had it tuned up?

i have the same problem.
so here is what i wasted my money on, so you hopefully dont have to
new plugs (champion rc12yc), another set of tested coils, new fuel filter, OBD scanner
( no faults shown),
and i still have the same problem, and a few more..

cheers

For the xj6 cud be the rotor in the cap going open circuit or a fuel pump hose about to fall off , bleeding down or even egr sticking

For the v12 cud be fuel pressure problem or ignition amplifier

This can also be related to the fuel tank pressure control valve. Check to see if it holds vacuum using a vacuum gauge. I forget the specs but can find them later if you'd like
