Default Jurid coupling dimensions

I am building a driveshaft for my 1966 S Type that has had a transmission swap and I need to use a CV joint at each end because I cannot get optimum angles to use u joints. The angle works well to use an X300 Jurid at the diff end ( and I have the flange adapter to fit the S Type diff). However, to find the driveshaft length I need to know how thick the rubber coupling is.

Could anyone take a measurement of the rubber thickness from the diff flange ears to the driveshaft ears please?

I actually replaced my Jurid coupling a couple of months ago with the advice of a few helpful people on this forum. So as it happens I still have the old one on hand and can offer that measured at the Metal Bush it is exactly 30mm I hope this is the measurement you were after

Why were you advised to change it, and did it solve the problem?

A mechanic told me my old one was worn and needed replacing, So I sourced and fitted a new one myself. I'm a little suspicious, that , he thought I would get him to do it, as the old one really didn't look that bad once I had it out. He did replace one of the bolts that hold it in place as it hadn't been tightened properly by a previous owner/mechanic and due to continual vibration the circumference of the bolt had worn down. The replacement Bolt fixed a vibration I was getting at about 80km, I couldn't really tell if the new Jurid coupling did much but couldn't have hurt.

Hold on to that old one, Mikey, I think it probably has lots of service left in it. See my post on jurid replacement for a look at one that truly has "some wear" and remember, I discovered this whilst crawling under to grease the zerk fittings! It was transmitting torque just fine....ijs

Thanks very much, that was exactly the dimension I was looking for.
