Default Long distance drive.

Just took my 1997 XJ6L on a long distance trip. Jacksonville Florida to Pittsburg PA for three days, up and over to Brookville PA for two days, over to DuBois PA for 3 days and then across the state to Philly for a night then from Philly to Jacksonville Florida over 2 days. Never a hic-cup, noise, complaint or stutter. Everything worked great. Great trip and super comfortable drive. I was ready to do it again after all was said and done. I've made this trip hundreds of times in the past by car but NEVER in a Jaguar...pure driving bliss!

Somehow, Jaguar created cars that allowed you to enjoy the environment in a vehicle of a certain luxury. You are allowed you to enjoy both the scenery, the road and the vehicle's handling characteristics at a speed no other manufacturer can compete with.

Jaguars are so versatile, it seems.

They insulate you from the rain when there's a storm, but when you go for a scenic drive, no other car lets you take it in as much as a Jag. Comfortable, fast, and nicely handling means you'll enjoy a winding country road as well as being stuck in traffic (well, to some extent, at least!).

I hadn't realized that I have quite the case of road rage until this past weekend when I had to drive a VW Jetta about 200km for my dad. Needless to say I was dying for my wood grain, heated leather seats and lack of blind spots... and just about everything else!

That is a fact "Nothing" drives like a Jaguar, my 87 Series III amazed me in its smooth, almost silky ride. I couldn't believe how my X300 rode/handled loaded down with luggage, it almost seemed to improve the ride!

I had a 400 mile round trip from Napier to Wellington NZ, and back.
XJR manual. great trip. went like a Wellington bomber up hills, passing lesser stuff with ease.
On the way home I got stuck in slow traffic, behind farm machinery, then roadworks. finally i cleared all that and I was behind an Alfa 147 GTA.
We both sped up, with a great 30 minute fast drive through windy roads. I wondered how this 4 cylinder hatchback could keep pace with an XJR - when I got home, I googled the GTA to discover it is a 3.2 litre 250bhp V6 hatchback! It was a fair match for the XJR.
good stuff
And I got 25mpg

I returned home last week from a month long trip around central and southern United States, driving 8-10 hours almost daily. The car performed magnificently and was even comfortable to sleep in for those 4 weeks. I plan on doing this again but on the west coast and for 2 maybe 3 months, I've no doubt the jaguar will be up to the task
