LPG conversion - done
Hey,
I got my LPG conversion done today. There's absolutely no difference driving on petrol on LPG, as far as I can tell. I also specifically requested valve-cooling, basically it cools and oils valves (there's a 0,5quart reservoir of some oil that I'll have to fill up every 3000miles or so).
There are only 2 things bugging me, though:
-as there's exhaust near the spare wheel, they didn't run the filler hose underneath the car, but rather just underneath the boot trim. Consequence is that spare wheel cover now doesn't sit flush as it interferes with the hose (and there is a 65l LPG tank now instead of spare wheel - making trunk feel much nicer, I was always afraid that I could break the spare wheel cover, but now it's safer since tank supports the whole cover
-installer told me that by the speedo car idles at 800rpm, but by cumputer it actually is at 600rpm (I didn't notice it, it seems normal to me), so he couldn't get the LPG to function properly at 600rpm (LPG caused rough idle), so he set it to start at 800rpm+ (1000rpm according to speedo). So basically, everytime I'm parking or stop for a traffic light, I'm wasting petrol :/ I'm thinking of manually setting the throttle cable so it would always idle at 900rpm (1100rpm according to speedo). Any thoughts?
