In need of a horn but don't want alarm
Hello all, I've searched the forums for how to bypass Alarm; it just may not be possible. Both my fobs seem bad, but I happy to use just the keys. I just don't like alarms and unfortunately keep my car outside and it gets rained on. I have a cover but I know it will get rained on. If I drive it the rain, I cant put a cover on it until it is dry, so it will get wet then. But this alarm, I've read, doesn't like the wet and can be a problem waking up neighbors at 3:AM!!
Heres what I like to ask? Can I disconnect the alarm horn and then disconnect the normal horn. After this, is there way to wire the steering wheel horn button so that it operates either an aftermarket horn or the normal Jag horn? Obviously I need a horn, but maybe there is a way I can have one but not have an alarm that might go off waking the neighbors up?
Ideas?

The alarm with the Security Lock Control module needs to be powered to be able to start the car
You can tie as string on the SLCU fuse in the trunk to quickly kill the alarm
# 4 / 10 amp trunk fuse box
the normal horn works when the relay in the corner of the left engine bay fuse box closes when the horn button provides a ground controlling the horn relay
See page 232 upper left corner on the print
jagxj1996.pdf (jagrepair.com)
You will notice the SLCU also provides a ground to close the same relay
