hey guys, i'm a new member here! I just purchased a 96 xj6 with 118000 mi on the clock. looks very good and runs good. are these good cars and what can i expect besides the headliner sagging a little and the power antenna not going all the way down. the guy told me you can buy the antenna insert and pull the old one out from the top and feed the new insert in from the top. also the digital clock doesn't work near the radio. other than that ,the car looks great for the year. leather looks very good. please advise.

Clock problems are common. I think this outfit will repair 'em.

I *think* the bit about the antenna mast is correct but I've never actually been there and done that
These are very good cars. They have some quirks but, still, they're very good.

Yes, there is a ring that unscrews from the top. My new antenna from ebay had instructions on it. I rememer turning on the radio and pulling the antenna up until the plastic rope comes all the way out. Pay attention to which direction the teeth are on the rope. You will need to reinsert in the same directions. I do believe you just feel the new one back in when you turn off the radio. Then makes sure the clip seated and rescrew the ring.
