Outside temperature influences engine running conditions
1995 XJ6 VDP 94K Miles
Hi everyone,
I have a weird problem.
As soon as the outside temperature reaches 80°F or more the engine is acting up.
Below that temperature it is a bomb at any speed/RPM's. this engine does not burn asingle drop of oil.
Water/coolant level is good.
Engine starts instantly at any time
But when 80°F (outside) or more, it runs fine at low RPM's but does not want to accelerate properly unless I floor it. It runs like it was not getting enough gas or like it was not running properly on all cylinders (but engine is running on all cyls)
I had a gas leak and had the gas line replaced.
I thought that was my problem but apparently it is not.
I have replaced the water temperature sensor. The thermostat is good as far as I know
The engine temperature is perfect
On short trips I only get 12 MPG
Thanks for your input
Claude
