Owners age - for fun ;)

As in the tittle, what age group would you guys class yourself, I just wanted to see the variety we have here of the X300 owners. Basically, is it just the ol' gentleman's car, or not?

Maybe I'll start, I'm 26 and my wife is 24, and I always wanted a Jag, although when my wife saw pictures of X300 she hated it, but when we went to see it, she fell in love with it.

Me 63. Grumpy one legged old fart.

Her 61 and the light of my life, Jags include, and NO she does read this stuff.

Toooooo many Jags to really still have the "warm and fuzzies" for any particular one, They were/are ALL awesome in their own way.

31, on my first Jag after many years of German metal - thoroughly enjoying it despite the 'foibles'!

45, and I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up.

McJaguar 11-13-2012 08:30 AM

i'm 40-ish.... on my 2nd Jag. still turning all my own wrenches,

cbharley10 11-13-2012 08:34 AM

My wife and I are both 40ish here, this is our first Jag and has been our pride and joy.

Great looking solid car, as long as you can do some of your own wrenching and dont mind the fiddly bits that come with the territory! ;-)

I've had a MGB since 1979. I really wanted a Jag XJ6 when I found out what a bargain they are in the US. Got mine for $3500 last January with 73000 miles & never been in the snow. My wife likes it too!

I do all of my own work on the cars.

JTsmks 11-13-2012 11:53 AM

49....for another 3 weeks!

GatorJoe 11-13-2012 12:00 PM

46 and it feels like a perfect age for having this car.

Todd951968 11-13-2012 02:21 PM

44 and my first Jaguar. My dad has had an XJS for many years and I've driven it and done some maintenance on it for him but think they are too much to care for.

The XJ6 seems great so far, for the few weeks I've owned it. One thing is that it really slows me down and calms me while driving it. I mostly drive high strung/hard core Porsches and BMWs so this is a real (nice) change of pace. I'm not "racing" to get to where I am going as much when I take the Jaguar out.

EZDriver 11-13-2012 04:55 PM

I'm 77. Have had my 95 XJ6 for over eight years. My wife (68) liked it so much she wanted a Jag of her own. So two+ years ago I bought her a 2000 XK8 conv. Both are pretty much daily drivers except when I ride my motorcycle or drive my old pickup.

Back in the mid 70s I bought a 1959 XK150S drop head coupe. It needed a complete restoration. I completely went through the engine, three 2 in SU carbs, trans and overdrive. But not being a body man and other pressing problems I sold the project. Something I wish I hadn't done. But I had other projects since like a Long EZ A/C.

30. Bought my XJR 2 years ago at 28. I still get asked if it's my car when I go to pay for petrol...

Age 73

My wife and i are both 73,lived most of our working life in Canada, both used to driving bigger cars,i purchased a xj6 the beginning of last month,i have fiddeled around getting little things done to it, such.i winterized it, i changed the air and oil filters, and changed the oil,the car is driving beautiful, i have never heard a car so quiet, the problem i have right now is i am going to have to sell it,as my wife, will not drive it, she figures its away to big for her,i have taken her out twice in it ,but she say she feels nervous, i did not think it would bother her, as she had all kind of experience driving big cars, but then again she was not 73,so im not going to try and force her to drive it,but we have decided to go to one car at the end of the year, and for two reasons it will not be the jaguar,1st reason i have already told you, 2nd reason, i would have to go every Sat with her for groceries, and when we happen to run out of millk or any thing else, you know who would be left to go ,so we are not going to let that happen (ha ha ) so im just going to bite the bullet and sell the jag as much as i like it,and by the way i didnt feel 73 when i was driving i felt 23 HaHa ,just a bit fun :icon_dance-disco::icon_dance-disco:
