I love when people refer to the XJ6 as a big car. Parked next to my Lincoln LS my XJ6L is about 2" narrower, 5" inches shorter and only 2" longer. The LS is a "mid size" car and looks HUGE next to the XJ6L.

I'm 62 with a wife who is 2 years older and I bought my first Jaguar a couple of years ago after 40+ years of wanting one. Since then there has been a kind of love/hate relationship but I ain't getting rid of the old girl just yet. I'm keeping the Jag too.

On topic, 6 months older than the 'boy' JimC64. He reminds me on a regular basis. :( |
28, first Jag (94 XJR) but my 47th car. It's also my thirstiest (I've never seen 7mpg before), my whiniest (thanks to the supercharger - a turbo diesel isn't the same) and the quickest! I'll be a Jag owner for a long time - X308 XJR is next on my hit list

68 both wife and i on third jag first 1966 3.8 s/type never got it going right, almost gave it away. second 1987 3.6 xj40 round headlamp model loved, but always liked look of x300 had her 4 years now going to garage for front suspention rebushing (poly) and yearly MOT cannot wait to her back as been of road 15 month, poor u/k pensioner

Oh, and back on topic, I'm 43. I grew up in the era when if a young person had a 4-door car, it meant your father got a new car and you got the hand-me-down. More recently when I went to help my nephews and nieces get their first cars, they actually wanted 4-doors. A car salesman told that's what most kids want today. Times have changed and a four-door sedan doesn't necessarily say anything about your age or family situation anymore. XJ's may have originally sold to mostly older men and women who could afford them, but as they trickle down into the used car market, it seems that all sorts of people, young, old, wealthy and poor are buying them. Obviously, styling-wise they had a broader appeal than their original price tags. |

I'm 21, but I've had a Jag since I've been driving.
|
47 years old on my second Jag First in 2003 a 90 Sovereign , 95 XJR since 2008
I actually like the 90 Sov better seemed to be roomier and a plusher ride and better economy but the xjr is growing on me I have since extended the front seat rails as I am 6,3 tall and very long legged my wife is 5,10 tall I think the newer interior of the X300 style car robs interior space as the 90 Sovereign didn't have air bags Had a few Benz,s before the Jags had to learn the hard way LOL 70 280CE 74 350SE 80 450SL 86 560SEC in that order don't even look at Benzes now I like the look of the current 5 series but waiting till the new XJ gets a few years old would love a new diesel XJ makes the same power and a bit more torque than the XJR6 I own now love the new diesels Wife had Citroen C5 diesel now Jeep Grand Cherokee 2007 diesel I liked both of them the Jeep is very roomy and that merc diesel engine is one sweet engine but love my Jags am still waiting to find a late model XJS with a 6.0 engine they are a bit expensive second hand still here in Australia |
22, had it since 19. Handed down from my gramps at 100,000 miles. Going to pass it down to my younger bro and hopefully get a XF or 2008 XJ.
