Default Potential Dodgy Boot/Trunk Wiring.

The plastic cover over the right hand boot hinge was damaged. I acquired a pair of replacements. On fitting it, it became apparent that it had been visited before. I stripped of the tape and lo and behold three wires had been repaired by inserting a two inch insert, properly soldered. I checked continuity from before the repair to the boot lamps. Both OK. Nevertheless, the lamps do not illuminate, although they are not open circuit. So my question is, where is the switch that causes the circuit to be completed?p

If you're asking where is the switch that turns the boot lights on/off - it's part of the boot latch assembly.

+1, the micro switch is part of the boot/trunk latch.

There are some wires going nowhere in the boot lid. They will need to be looked at next week when I get back from The Jaguar Day at Windsor. We expect to see royalty!!
