Default Rear Deck Speakers

Hello All,

I am replacing my rear deck 6 X 9 speaker (from a premium sound 1996 VDP) with a Custom Autosound speaker as recommended, but I have absolutely no sound. I would be grateful for any hints anyone might have. The rest of the sound system seems to be working fine.

Thanks!

Andrew

Default Switched leads

Sorry to waste your time. I fixed the issue by simply switching the leads on one side of the speaker. (The crutchfield connectors I bought connected to the speakers, but not the wiring, so I had to cut off the ends.)

Question Which "Custom Autosound" speaker did you install?

Can you clarify which speaker you ordered and installed?

Also, is it a dual-coil speaker?

Does it seem to be working well in the "sub" role?

Default Rear Deck Speaker

Al,

So far so good, but I only installed it yesterday.

I got the Custom Autosound DVC (Dual Voice Coil) Model 3006 recommended by XJ6Harris in an earlier thread started by Simprof. It fits perfectly, but it is just a touch too big for the spacer, which I cracked trying to persuade it in. No worries, though, as the screws fasten it securely to the rear deck.

As I mentioned earlier, the Crutchfield part 12071017 did not work at the wiring harness end - it had some sort of cylinder and barrel connectors which I had to cut off.

I am trying to sell the car, but I can't stop tinkering with the darn thing.

Default Apologies to Crutchfield!

Upon cleaning up my workshop, I find that I used the wires that came with the speakers, not the Crutchfields I ordered, which DID have the right connections. Too late now.

Anyone looking to replace the rear deck speaker is welcome to the adaptor wiring - it's not doing me any good.

I am currently in the market for a Jaguar radio

Was looking at the Custom Autosound USA-630 and was wondering if anyone on here had heard of the unit and their thoughts. I like the fact you can still hook up a CD player to it(Im old). Thanks in advance.
