I am interested in installing a remote starter system in my 97 XJ6. Does anyone have any suggestions as to which one work the best for this generation and/or won't mess up the security system? Or if I will have to remove the whole security system? And is the achievable?

 

I would not mess with any of the electronic component specially modifying the starter system. If what your after is some fancy key-less go then buy the newer model, it will give you less headache than what you plan to do.
