I've made a spring compressor. M16 threaded bar, thick steel plate with hole drilled in and a hole through the top of the bar with another smaller bolt through it to key in at the turret.

The bar has still to be cut to length.
What bushes do you need to replace? The top wishbone bushes and shock bushes can be replaced withought the compressor although a jack under the lower ball joint is needed for the shock bush replacement. Not needed for upper wishbone bushes.
I didn't realise how high the car needs to be to decompress the spring with a jack. I gave up as the car I was working on was a breaker car and didn't think it was worth the effort as springs and shocks looked tired.
