Can anyone suggest reasons for engine cut out, when starting and at intersections when the weather is hot ? On a cool day she runs fine and does not stall. 97 x300. I have a new throttle position sensor and a new idle control, I did swap out the mass airflow sensor for a used one but it's just the same. Is there a test for the mafs ?

 

To know if your MAF sensor is alive it will read 1.2 volts DC on the Green / Pink color wire ( middle wire on the MAF sensor which must remain connected ) at idle and will go up on throttle up

some have placed a thin needle along the wire into the connector

Ensure you have a good ground point and not the electrically isolated valve cover

There may be a issue with the EVAP system but that whould take you in a different direction

You can test the EVAP valve with a 9 volt battery and feeling for it to click open / close , you can blow through it to see if fully closed

The EVAP valve is under the air filter housing , the vacuum line attaches under the intake manifold on a intake pipe

The X300 came with 2 different EVAP systems depending on if you only have 1 square vapor canister on the left side Fwd of the rear wheel , this single vapor canister involves a Rochestor valve

A 2 canister system will have one on the left and right side not having a Rochestor valve
