I had someone weld the crack manifolds with cast iron. Seem to work out great so far

I’ve managed to get the new downpipe connected to the manifolds, on the studs, and everything back together. Except for one annoying thing.

The rear of the downpipe and the cats section seem to be just too far apart. Is there any adjustment I can make to bring these together? Loosen the manifold to downpipe bolts or something? Or should these two bits just mesh nicely.

There’s a bit of movement in each pipe, but the olive always seems to leave a sliver of a gap no matter how I’m lining them up.

Using the power of two men, I managed to force the pipes together and now the Jag is back in action. Nice, quiet action.

Thanks to all who helped me on the way, turned out not to be as hard as I was expecting once the car was up in the air but your tips and information were great aids. I’ll see you all again with another post shortly I’m sure. Ciao!
