Default Tilt Wheel Issues and door lock issues

I have 1996 Jaguar XJ6 VdP inline 6 with 49450 miles.

My telescoping wheel works but the tilt function will not work. The memory function will move steering wheel out of the way like it is supposed to but only the telescope feature. Wheel is stuck in up position. Is the switch bad or motor bad, or is this possibly a ground issue? The door locks unlock and relock multiple times whenever I use the key or key FOB to unlock and lock the doors. The drivers door is the only one that remains locked when I unlock the doors remotely. Any ideas what the problem may be?

Hi again Cameron. You really need to post your questions here https://www.jaguarforums.com/forum/xj-xj6-xjr6-x300-26/ as Graham said.

This is the intro forum and isn't really meant for troubleshooting cars.

Enjoy the drive.

I've moved your question from New Member Area - Intro a MUST to X300 forum. This is the place to post technical questions about your model.

Please read and follow the advice I gave in my reply to your original Intro before posting again.

Graham

There is a position sensor that binds the tilt drive and that sensor can be popped off and cleaned of the too thick grease . No need to remove the motor , just pops off . There was a TSB to put in a stronger motor but if you clean the sensor you might get by . I have a pic somewhere of the inside of the sensor . You have to clock it as you install back on the motor and a battery charger will work .
